Welcome to the newest part of the BCMS library - blogging! I am going to be posting blogs about books I am reading that will be avaliable for checkout at the middle school library. I will be reading books that are nominated for the KY Bluegrass Award in the beginning -but who knows where this will take us. I invite you to post comments and ask me questions about the books I've posted. Keep in mind that I will be monitoring/approving the blogs - and absolutely NO objectional or offensive information will be posted! You can blog anonymously or you may put first names, but please do not put first and last names for security reasons. If you would like me to post a new blog about a book you are reading so others can ask you quesitons about it - please give me the information at middle school or e-mail it to me. I will post your information for others to read and respond to. I am excited about the new format that we can use to communicate with each other about books and reading. Let the blogging begin ! ! ! This thread is for all the Harry Potter fans out there that would like to comment. |
The Harry Potter series is one of the best I have ever read. In fact if it weren't for this series I would not be reading as much as I am now. I used to read around 8-12 books per semester; now though after I read the series I read about 15-20 per semester. I've sometimes wondered what it would be like to be in a world like Harry's. The best part I would like would be playing quidditch and flying. What would your favorite part be? |
Chris I agree - Harry Potter is one of the best books I had read in awhile when the first one came out. I usually do not like fantasy books, but these are great. Millions of kids were just like you in the fact that the Harry Potter series got them reading - the hope of every teacher. I am not sure which part would be my favorite - maybe learning to do spells. |
Yeah, I'd like that too. Then I could make people leave me alone when they bothered me. I would also like being able to apparate and dissaperate.) |
I would have to agree if you have never read these books I would reccomend you to. Although if you are looking for almost the exact same things happening in the movies you are sadly mistaken. The books have a whole more things happening in them then in the movies. In a way I don't really care much for the movies becuase I have read the book and realized how much worse the movies are compared to the books. It leaves out the best parts. If you have not read to the books, please do. You would trully love them. |
(Travis, the movies only seem bad if you watch them before you read the books. Because, then you already have an idea of what happens. But its like Mrs. Conley said, '' its fun to watch the movies, and then compare the way the directors think the characters look, and the way you think they look ''. ) |
If someone said that Harry Potter was a terrible book there would probably be the first ever mob scen that all the mobsters were nerds like us |
i have found a new series at our public library called the septimus heap series. i strongly recomend it to aqnyone who likes the harry potter series. it is about the seventh son of the seventh son. you must read in order. first book is called magyk. yes i spelt it correctly. these books are truly magykal |

I have watched all of the Harry Potter movies and I thought they were really good to. My aunt has gotten me into watching them and turns out that they were awesome for me. Maybe the books will be as good as the movies. The books I havent read yet but i will try and read them this year as an 8th grader. But since i havent read them mabe you all Harry Potter bloggers can tell me a little bit aboout them so I will know what to expect!!!!!! Thanks!!! |
This is to Jaden and Brianna. I wanna know how you two could have seen all the movies when they haven't even all came out yet. By the way, did all you Harry Potter fans know that the guy who plays Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, I'm pretty sure, will be around 20 when they finish all the movies. |
I knew that!! He's hot..hehe
Uhm..The books are really not like the movies But they just started making the Half Blood Prince So they've got a ways to go |
I was disapointed in the fifth movie it was to long before you got to the good parts |
There is no comparison between the Harry Potter movies and books. The books are way better! I am a big, sorry, I mean HUGE Harry Potter fan and I find it hard to make it through a whole movie without losing interest! |
To Chris: I meant that I have seen all of the movies that have come out so far! |
Yeah. Me too Coach K!
Love the books. But the Movies get a lil..boring.? I just finished reading The Order Of the Pheonix and I watched the movie and I was VERY surprised how quickly it got boring.! The Goblet of Fire is the besst BY FAR of course it is my favorite book.. ! =) |
