Welcome to the newest part of the BCMS library - blogging! I am going to be posting blogs about books I am reading that will be avaliable for checkout at the middle school library. I will be reading books that are nominated for the KY Bluegrass Award in the beginning -but who knows where this will take us. I invite you to post comments and ask me questions about the books I've posted. Keep in mind that I will be monitoring/approving the blogs - and absolutely NO objectional or offensive information will be posted! You can blog anonymously or you may put first names, but please do not put first and last names for security reasons. If you would like me to post a new blog about a book you are reading so others can ask you quesitons about it - please give me the information at middle school or e-mail it to me. Well what can I say about the Twilight series, YOU MUST READ!!!!!!!!!! If you like adventure, romance, and of course VAMPIRES you will love this book.
I must give credit to Mrs. Buerkley for sparking the interest, thanks for the book order! (She knows what I mean) But back to the point. A young girl named Bella leaves Arizona and her mom behind and goes to Forks, Washington to live with her dad. She meets a boy named Edward Cullen.(We know what all the girls are thinking about instead of their math howework. lol!) A series of events that take place make them inseparable. But a group of 3 dubious (that's for Mrs, Bess) vampires makes Bella run to save her mom who really isn't in any danger. Sound like a book you'll enjoy? You will never know if you don't try it. Tune in for my next blog. Enjoy.

I absolutely loved the first book in the series, Twilight. I kept wondering, however, why did Bella's blood smell so different to Edward. Did this mean that she is his true love or his true meal? I mean, I don't usually fall in love with my pizza. Would he have had her for a meal had he been a vampire that takes human beings? |
Hats off to Nathan for letting me borrow his 4th book! I've been hooked on this series since last year's book fair! Just like Mrs. Vater, the whole idea of Bella's blood smelling different (in a fresh batch of brownies sort of way) is a little creepy to me. The connection between these two must have been powerful from the beginning for Bella to risk hanging out with someone who could be so dangerous for her own survival. I think I would be a little more nervous about spending so much time with Edward if that was me! Does that make Bella brave or dumb? There's a fine line there I think.
I'm on the fourth book and can't wait for the Twilight movie to be released in November! The girl who played in made for TV movie Speak plays Bella and the Harry Potter actor who played Cedric Diggory plays Edward in Twilight--it should be GOOD! |

this really has nothing to do with this book but this is a series that i think Nathan and a couple other people may like. it is called the septimus heap series. it is about the seventh son of the seventh son. it is a great series. if you try it you must go in order. the first book is called Magyk then i believ it is flyte and last fyre but if you read it you should check. i am for sure though that the first book is called magyk. the reviews all say mostly look out harry you have compeitition |

I had Nathan tell me about the book one day in class, I really didnt know why every one was talking about it so much, but when he told me about it i was really interested. I went out yesterday and bought the book. It's almost impossible to put down, I am already on page 431. So thank you Nathan for telling me about it! |

Omgosh I cannot WAIT to see that moviee. Ashley and Bryhton have told me ALOT about the books and I have just started reading themm.! I love how they just.. fall in love.? Gotta love that Good old love storyy! I like how he protected her too. That is SO sweet. Wouldn't really expect that from a vampire. But I guess Edward is different..! =) |
twilight was a very good book. it kept you on the edge of your seat. Once i started it i couldn't put it down. Twilight is a good romantic and fiction book. |

Bella's blood smells so different because Bella is special to Edward, Sort of like when you love someone and they look and feel so different to you because that is what love is. Do you know how we all have a favorite Flower? Well Bella's blood to Edward is the sweetest smelling flower(fresia to be exact) so beautiful and fragile but yet so inviting that you can't Help but to want to pick it, but that is also putting it in danger and that is probably what Edward was feeling at the time, Bella also suffered this as well because the time she was spending with Edward put him in danger of letting his family's secret, while she was so fragrant he had to fight every step of the way trying not to "pick" such a delicate being and that is part of what makes the story so intresting image trying to fight something that your mind wanted to devour while your heart wanted to keep the "flower" alive so that other people could experience it's beauty. The young girl's primacy of first love, forbidden love and what is more forbidden than loving a vampire, so amazing but at the same time so dangerous, on one hand the pairs world is so seperated, so different, almost unable to co-exist together let alone live for each other, but than on the other hand nothing can stand in the way of you loving that person for an eternity.
